Accident insurance
Accident insurance is compulsory in Switzerland, insuring both employees and employers against occupational and non-occupational accidents. It covers medical expenses and guarantees payment of 80% of salary in the event of incapacity for work, so that the employer does not have to bear the cost directly.
Supplementary accident insurance
Unlike accident insurance, supplementary accident insurance is optional, but offers enhanced protection. It increases the benefits paid in the event of incapacity for work by up to 20%, and offers additional benefits such as hospitalization in a private or semi-private room, for optimum comfort.
Group health insurance
Group health insurance, also known as loss of earnings insurance, protects the employer in the event of an employee’s absence due to illness. It takes over payment of the employee’s salary, providing the employer with the financial resources needed to recruit a temporary replacement.
